RTZ Public Design Resources for AMPEX Recorders

We decided to make our design resources for our Ampex upgrade electronics public material since these items are no longer produced or supported. This decision was made to allow past customers or other users wishing to modify or recreate these designs in order to keep their studio recorders in working order. Note this design material may not be used for commercial or individual profit.

We suggest checking with users of the Ampex mailing list or other web resources for help if you have question or problems.

Schematics, CAD, Gerber and Documentation Data

 

reproduce card	This archive contains all schematics, CAD files, Gerber data and documentation originally used for our legendary reproduce upgrade electronics.
record card	This archive contains all schematics, CAD files, Gerber data and documentation originally used for our legendary record upgrade electronics.
extender cards	This archive contains CAD files for the various repro, record and bias amp extender cards.
switcher card	A swticher card design for the MM1200 that was in the works but was never fully tested or verified. This should be pretty "close", however, some additional design work may be needed. Use at your own risk.

NOTE: We have a limited supply of custom anodized heatsinks and edge connectors available for our repro card design. These are available for $10 each for either part while supplies last.
